BOOTMGR IS MISSING bai!

hi! Please bear with me! like Sir Eric said THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS WRONG GRAMMAR!

Yesterday, I partition my disk into two, since Vista has this feature without booting it using CD (just like in XP). So, I did it, I follow instructions that  I found on the internet using the best engine google.com typing the keyword “partition hard drive in Vista” den click the best result and here is the link

But then, the shrink volume of my drive C: was just only 1.65 GB.  And I wonder why that is? Then, I left it like that, having two hard drives but the D: / has 1.65 GB only.

Then late at night, my classmate turned on my laptop but an error shown up saying “bootmgr is missing” press ctrl+alt+ Del. Then I did the ctrl+alt+ Del but same way happen. I keep repeating the short process, then I push F12 for booting but the recovery disk did not recognized, even the boot menu can’t bee seen.

I asked help to my friends, I followed their instructions, but same as it is, nothing happens. So the last choice will be going to the Service Center.

So, in the afternoon, I did went to the Service Center, and after they found out , they told me that they will work it our this Tuesday because they still busy and it is Holiday for Friday and Monday. and I said, Maybe I can do it by myself, but they told me, they are the one who can do it , because they have a PROGRAM for it and they advise me to back up my files and they took out my hard drive. The, I was confused on what will I do.

Then I decided to go SM to buy an enclosure at CDRKING.  But unfortunately, they have no stock, luckily when they call the other branch in the Gmall, they have stock and cost only for Php280.oo. Then I went to Gmall, getting my priority number waited for 15+ customers so that I will be accommodated. Then I did buy it.

When I went home, I inserted my hard drive to my CDR King 2.5 Enclosure and look my files and thank goodness it is still there EXCEPT that my documents were corrupted….how unfortunate!

But I took my laptop , I turned it on without the Hard drive, I noticed that my optical disk was reading my recovery disk DVD, then it executes the VISTA recovery disk. I chose the system recovery and it executes until it restarts. When it restarts I noticed that you can boot it when it stated below the “Toshiba bla bla” the words “Press F2 for boot menu and F12 to reboot” and I am sure that I can now boot my HD!

I then inserted my hard drive to my laptop, then reboot, press F12 and it did. But I choose my XP installer than VISTA. Then I install my windows to the extra disk (1.65 GB) and my major disk that has my important files is still safe, it is not corrupted!

Then, I inserted my HD to the enclosure again, back p my files then reformat.

Then back to my laptop to install all programs.

I did nothing related to my thesis for this day. JUST an unforgettable experience with my baby (laptop)… how sad…

By the way, my brother and I installed my REMOTE PC (the thing I’ve won in the last CYBER EXPO 2008) in my pc, it is so fun! Except that I have no TV/Radio Tuner. But we really enjoy it (ignorant!)!
