Koha- the first open-source Integrated Library System
January 3, 2008

Koha is feature-rich but the core features are, and always will be:
- a library catalogue front end/OPAC
- a library system intranet
- a circulation tracking system
- an acquisitions/budgeting system
Koha was developed in 1999 by a small team of programmers working for a consulting company in New Zealand to address the needs of a small library branch on the island because their vendor-supplied ILS was outmoded and not Y2K compliant. more
